Noir is a seven-eyelet derby boot made on our Sailor last. The uppers for this unique pattern have been cut from one single piece of leather and lasted entirely by hand. Noir is made from one of the bovine leathers produced by the American tannery Horween. The material, called Russian Reindeer, is embossed with a hatch grain pattern.
The boots feature dark brown calf leather lining, vegetable tanned bovine leather insoles, pull tabs and rounded leather laces. The soles are hand welted and have leather middle soles and rubber outer soles, highly resistant to abrasion.
More information and a video on hand lasting are available in The Journal: The Art of Lasting Shoes by Hand.
